okay so let’s talk about the whole Gorgo was a gorgon things!! 10/10 i love it

her backstory is definitely interesting. however!! in s2 Seraphim mentions her father, Solon from Kyllini.

now this is interesting because it means Gorgo either lied about her past to tell to Seraphim, or it means she was a human, then got turned into a gorgon, then got turned back

so if Gorgo wasn’t lying about her dad, i can see her doing something when she was younger to upset probably Athena, who therefore turned her into a gorgon. and when Athena thought she learned her lesson, she turned Gorgo back.

(note: the creators did say that Gorgo chose to give up her powers but i’m not sure in what circumstance that would be in because i assume she didn’t like being a gorgon. giving up her powers and wanting to turn back are two different things)

anyways, then i assume she made it back to her family and/or her father. but my guess is that her father was ashamed of her and sent her to be a priestess, or the people of Kyllini knew what a bad person she was before her transformation (most likely it was a secret right?) and no guy wanted to marry her. which is why she was able to be a priestess of Artemis, because she’s never had sex

it also seems like Gorgo’s family were pretty well off? Hecate mentions there’s lots of honor that came with being a priestess and to my knowledge I don’t think lower class women were chosen. noble families sent their daughters to be priestesses sometimes, that i know

and i definitely think the head priestess we saw in s2 knew about Gorgo’s whole gorgon transformation because that woman was GLARING at her

anyways that’s my two cents!!

(this theory also points to Seraphim being her only love interest she’s ever had because 1. priestess and 2. a gorgon isn’t gonna have time for romance)

Hey I read your BoZ season 3 post, and as someone who's making BoZ fanfiction I agree with you. Honestly, I blame Netflix for making the creators rush it. There were so many things that needed proper development and sub plots that deserved better writing. I'm honestly disappointed we didn't get to see any of the sea gods, and I'm sad that Dionysus never even got to talk. And he's an Olympian, he has a big role too in this. Also, I've noticed multiple times that Hyacinthus kept appearing and the little scenes of Hyapollo moments I've seen, I am led to believe that Hyacinthus would've played an important role or was added to the narrative and he and Apollo could've had more moments together. Honestly, I would've loved for Heron to develop his relationship with his godly siblings. The potential dynamic they could've had. Alexia and Heron could've been properly developed, and maybe Gorgo and Seraphim could've had a more depth bc I think they had more plans with those two ships. I hate how so much potential was wasted. But at the very least they didn't end the show with a cliffhanger, so I applaud the creators for ending the show as best as they can.

You bring up great points! I wouldve loved to have seen Heron having developing relationships with his divine siblings, that could have made room for him to develop as a character as well, and not just as the poster child for being the chosen one -even though he even wasnt the chosen one.

I think Heron wouldve gotten along the most with Artemis and Apollo. I'm glad we saw most of Apollo in the 1st season, Artemis needed more screen time and dialogue. Apollo and Hyacinthus scenes needed to happen. I was expecting more sweet moments with Aphrodite and Ares but knew that wasn't going to happen when they werent given more seasons.

I'm most bummed about not enough Poseidon / Atlantis content I think. I wouldve loved to have seen Amphitrite, honestly. Poseidon calling the Atlanteans in the ending scene was great and all we have.

I feel like Heron needed a final moment with the Fates and with his father. I'm happy hes with his mother and brother. I think I expected to see a big epic chain of events of undoing what the Titans did, bringing back the 3 Olympians who literally died and having Hades with his wife and everything restored to balance. Like, we sorta got that but not in the way I was expecting.

And EVEN THOUGH the Titans didn't get the torch of Hekate I was expecting to at least see it.

But yeah, the last season needed less subplots, more action scenes and more direction to the overall plot.
